by Avalon on Sat Apr 16, 2016 8:38 pm

after the latest Win 10 update, I can't download data anymore.
With the previous win 10 update it run faultless.
I am running a M84, have reinstalled the ecu manager and installed the latest i2 standard, but to no avail.
I still got the message "cannot access application registry key"

Thanks for your help

I have informed our software testers about this issue for you, they will investigate it.

Are you running the software as "admin" ? Turby Posts: 36 Joined: Wed Dec 31, 2008 10:59 pm

Looks like a permissions issue.

Try the following steps:

1) Open command prompt
2) type "regedit"
3) Registry Editor will open. Open the HKEY_CURRENT_USER folder
4) Navigate to the folder in which your MoTeC software is installed.
5) Right click on the folder, find "Permissions"
6) Find your username and ensure "Full Control" is enabled.

Many thanks, I'll try that.
In the meantime, I made a temporary workaround by going back to the previous build and so far it works.

I have had this same issue since the start of the year. I checked the registry like suggested above, but i have full access already. I also tried removing some windows updates without success.

The last time it worked was Dec 2017, but i don't have a restore point to go back to (I know i should have ) so i cannot work this out.

Has this been experienced by anyone else this year and do you have any suggestions?

Let me know if you need my serial number and windows version info.

Not sure if you resolved this but the same thing just happened to me after a Windows update.

I had to follow the regedit suggestions seen in the other threads on this topic and that didn't work. Then I went in as an admin on my pc and shared the C drive to all the other users. Just granting admin rights to my user profile didn't work.
