The PhD program is designed to prepare graduates for careers as effective University researchers and teachers or for senior research positions in business or government. A primary objective of the program is to train PhD candidates to become proficient researchers. Therefore, course work involves research activities such as literature review and critique, theoretical modeling, research design, computer-assisted empirical analysis and preparation of proposals and research papers. Another objective is to train students to become high-quality teachers. PhD candidates are provided the opportunity to teach undergraduate courses in their specialty area. In addition, students are expected to participate in national and regional academic conferences and are encouraged to work with faculty in developing individual research and teaching skills.

Missouri State Law requires that students who have a teaching assistantship achieve a certain level of proficiency on an oral language assessment, https://gradschool.missouri.edu/itap-program/. All Trulaske College of Business students are assigned as teaching assistants for at least one year of their program. Students are required to achieve the required proficiency score in order to receive financial support by fulfilling that teaching assignment and maintain good standing in the program.

The Accelerated Crosby MBA provides Mizzou Business undergraduate students with the opportunity to begin MBA coursework during their senior year. Students will complete their MBA with one additional year of full-time study beyond their undergraduate degree. Students will gain knowledge of business fundamentals through core graduate business hours, professional skills courses, the selection of one graduate certificate, and electives offered through the College of Business.
The Crosby MBA program is AACSB accredited, nationally recognized and highly ranked by U.S. News America’s Best Graduate Schools, Forbes, Princeton Review, and The Wall Street Journal.
Students may start the program at the beginning of the fall or spring semester.

Minimum requirements are a bachelor’s degree from a college or University recognized by a regional accrediting agency in the U.S. and a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the final 60 credit hours. Degrees from non-U.S. institutions must be recognized and approved by the Ministry of Education or Commission responsible for higher education in the country where the degree-granting institution is located. Please refer to the Graduate School web page for all degree requirements.
Neither a GMAT nor a GRE score is required but will be considered if submitted. Factors considered in the admissions decision include the quality and rigor of undergraduate classwork, potential for graduate work in finance, and career focus. Evidence to support these factors include items such as the personal statement portion of the application, any internships or post-graduation work experience, community involvement and service, and an interview (if requested by the admissions committee).
Students may start the program at the beginning of the fall or spring semester. No summer or mid-semester entry is allowed at this time.

All applicants to the Trulaske execMBA must have a minimum of 5 years of professional work experience, significant leadership experience, and a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Other factors considered in admission include undergraduate GPA and a personal statement addressing criteria outlined on the execMBA website. GMAT and GRE scores, as well as letters of recommendation, will be accepted but are not required. Interviews are by invitation only.
Applications are similar to those for domestic students, but an international student whose native language is not English is required to present an acceptable score on either the TOEFL or the IELTS.
